Bob and Lucius rescuing residents as the building is burning
During a conversation between Bob Parr and Lucius in Lucius' car, they hear on the police scanner of a fire nearby and set off to rescue anybody inside as part of their clandestine superhero work. Inside, Lucius has no moisture left to draw from to put out the fire, claiming that there is no water in the air. Seconds later, part of a wall collapses, and they make a run for it and Bob runs into a brick wall, breaking into another building with Lucius. However, they find themselves in a jewelry store, with several police officers stationed outside the store. Due to the pair wearing disguises that conceal their entire face, save for their eyes, the police think they are robbing the store. One police officer tells them to freeze, but Lucius requests to first drink some water, to which the officer accepts. Lucius uses the moisture to freeze the officer, which provokes him to fire his sidearm, though the bullet is frozen mid-air. Bob and Lucius escape through the back of the store as the other officers enter the store.
Back home, Helen is angry at Bob for carrying out clandestine superhero work. Bob mentions the building, and claims that it was on fire and was going to collapse without his interference. Bob justifies it by saying he performed a public service, but Helen retorts by saying that Bob is risking having to move the family again. Their arguing wakes Violet and Dash, who were eavesdropping, but are told to go back to bed.
