Syndrome's Velocipods were aerial vehicles built by Syndrome for use by his guards when dealing with intruders. They were seen in The Incredibles being used to hunt down Dash and Violet Parr while on Nomanisan Island.
Overview[]
They are silver disk-shaped vehicles operated by Syndrome's henchmen on Nomanisan Island. Their main body is surrounded by a giant ring propeller that allows the vehicle to hover above the ground. The ring can rotate around the central body to adjust speed and direction. They are equipped with two frontal guns.
Velocipods have very high speed and manoeuvrability, being able to fly close to the ground through dense jungle vegetation or inside a tunnel. However, they turn out to be fairly dangerous to operate, as collisions happen easily and most often cause the craft to explode in pieces.
Role in The Incredibles[]
They are most notably seen being used to chase Dash around Nomanisan Island. When Dash lands on one, he rapidly punches the pilot several times, to no effect. The pilot punches Dash off the velocipod, but crashes into a cliff as a result of being distracted. When Dash thinks he has lost them, he lets out a scream in celebration, alerting the guards. They chase Dash over a plain and lake, and seem to have surrounded him when they reach the underwater base entrance. When Dash stops running, he drops underwater, letting the two velocipods either side of him crash into each other and explode.
When the family reunites on the island, guards in velocipods arrive to fight them. They fight off the guards until Syndrome arrives and traps them using his zero-point energy glove. They are not seen again for the rest of the film.
